June 17, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the death of a woman found at 9500 Scranton about 11:55 p.m. on Thursday (June 16).

The female victim suffered burns and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer M. Miller and Officer M. Brady reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a burned body found in a field at the above location.  When officers arrived, they found the victim deceased and partially burned.

There are no known witnesses nor suspects at this time.
