Investigation into Incident at 8113 Way

June 13, 2011 - Houston police are investigating an incident that resulted in an elderly female being transported to an area hospital following a disturbance at 8113 Way about 2 a.m. on Sunday (June 12).

The female victim, 74, was unresponsive and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Elliott and Senior Police Officer M. Stahlin reported:

HPD patrol officers were dispatched to a disturbance call at an assisted living facility at the above location. When officers arrived, they found the victim unconscious and not breathing. Officers performed CPR on the woman until HFD emergency personnel arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. Further investigation determined the victim and the caregiver who was on duty at the time had gotten into an argument over a rules violation. The victim then assaulted the caregiver and, at some point during the altercation, the victim became unresponsive.

The investigation is continuing.
