Houston police officers responded to a reported stabbing at the above address and they discovered the victim had been stabbed several times.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two juvenile males who were initially charged with stealing Mr. Cuevas' pickup truck. At the time, those juveniles told police they were with Cantu inside his apartment, along with the Cuevas, when Cantu and Cuevas began arguing about money Cuevas owed Cantu. Cantu began beating Cuevas and, at some point, Cuevas attempted to jump out of the apartment through a closed window. Cantu stopped Cuevas from fleeing and stabbed him several times with a knife, killing him.
