February 14, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2800 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) about 4:20 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 13).

The male victim, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Wilson and Officer B. Tran reported:

Witnesses reported seeing the victim traveling at a high rate of speed on his yellow Suzuki Sv6506 motorcycle eastbound on the North Loop West and weaving in and out of traffic. While changing lanes, the motorcyclist struck another eastbound vehicle, a tan Ford Fusion, causing the motorcylist to lose control and strike a construction sign.

No one else was injured in this accident.
