Investigation into Male's Death at 8445 Winkler

August 8, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man at 8445 Winkler Drive #39 about 2:15 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 7).

The victim, Reece Daniel Gonzales, 24, of Fresno, Texas, suffered unknown wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Mr. Gonzales' cause of death will be determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a cutting at the above location. When officers arrived, HFD emergency personnel were providing medical assistance to Mr. Gonzales. He was then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Further investigation determined the initial assault began inside the apartment and Gonzales attempted to flee the scene by driving away.
