Fatal Traffic Accident at 9000 Southwest Freeway

April 15, 2011 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a motorist wanted in a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident in the 9000 block of the Southwest Freeway (US 59 South) service road about 8:55 a.m. today .

The male victim, in his mid 30s to mid 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer L. Segura reported:

The victim's body was found lying in the Academy store parking lot in the 9000 block of the Southwest Freeway service road. It appears he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. There are no known witnesses to the incident.
