September 10, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 11755 Beechnut about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 9).

The victim, Joan Ogunleye, 41, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers N. Wackman and J. French reported:

Ms. Ogunleye arrived in a Walmart store parking lot at the above address and waited in her vehicle.  Unknown suspects arrived and got into the vehicle with Ogunleye.  She was subsequently shot as she sat in the driver's seat.  The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.  Citizens contacted police after seeing Ogunleye's body in her vehicle.

At this time, there are no known suspects or motive in the incident.
