Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 3505 Elysian Street
October 29, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 3505 Elysian Street about 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 20.
The suspect, Tom Washington Jr, (b/m, DOB: 12-10-64), is charged with capital murder in the 209th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Sahib Ali Khan, 58, of Cypress. Mr. Khan suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Ruland, Senior Police Officers J. Johnston, B. Nabors and Officer J. Harvey reported:
Mr. Khan was inside his convenience store alone when an unknown male suspect entered the store, which was closed for remodeling. At some point, Khan was stabbed. The suspect then took property and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Further investigation identified Washington as the suspect in this case. On Wednesday (Oct. 27) Washington was arrested without incident.
