Fatal Traffic Accident at 1900 Kirby Drive

October 1, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1900 Kirby Drive about 11:10 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 30).

The male victim, 35, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Senior Police Officer S. Johnson reported:

The victim was driving a black Honda S2000 north on Kirby and failed to stay in his lane. The Honda struck a concrete median and then a tree. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Further investigation determined the victim was not wearing a seat belt. It is believed alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
