Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 9200 Richmond

November 2, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 9200 block of Richmond Avenue about 6:30 a.m. today (Nov. 2).

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  The victim's identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Senior Police Officer A. Brown reported:

A green Mitsubishi Montero was traveling eastbound on Richmond at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and struck a tree in the median, on the passenger door.  The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved in this accident.
