Suspect Charged in Traffic Accident at 6100 Fairdale May 24, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 6100 Fairdale about 9:35 p.m. on Wednesday (May 19). Steven Frederic Wallis (w/m, DOB: 12-20-68) is charged with intoxication assault in the 174th State District Court. A male victim, 26, of Houston, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Friday (May 21). His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Couch and Officer D. Ashford reported: Officers responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian accident at 6100 Fairdale. Wallis was driving a silver Lexus ES350 when he struck the victim. Witness stated the victim was standing in the street when he was struck by Wallis. Wallis remained on the scene and was taken into custody. JKS/JFC 5-24-10
