Suspect Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8624 LaPorte Road

May 17, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 8624 LaPorte Road about 10:30 p.m. on Friday (May 7).

The suspect, Marcos Aguirre (H/m, DOB: 7-7-76), is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Javier Tufino Belmont, 43, of Houston. Mr. Belmont suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. A photo of Aguirre is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Odom and Senior Police Officer L. Lovelace reported:

Patrol officers responded to a shooting at the Michoacan Night Club and found Mr. Belmont had been shot by an unknown male suspect while inside the club.

Further investigation identified Aguirre as a suspect in this case and he is currently at large.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
