Charges Filed in Fatal Traffic Accident at 3600 Briarpark May 11, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 3600 Briarpark Drive about 12:50 a.m. on May 5. The suspect, Adrian Mendoza-Alvarez (H/m, DOB: 12-24-88), is charged with intoxicated assault in the 179th State District Court. The male victim, 22, suffered severe head trauma and possible internal injuries and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on Monday (May 11). His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Brown reported: Mendoza-Alvarez, with the victim as his passenger, was driving a Lincoln Town Car northbound on Briarpark when the Lincoln went up onto a grassy median and struck two trees. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Mendoza-Alvarez was taken to West Houston Medical Center where he was treated for a minor hand injury and then taken into custody.
