Fatal Traffic Accident at 7700 Gulf Freeway

July 26, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate 45) about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday (July 24).

The male pedestrian, 22, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer M. Rios reported:

The pedestrian was attempting to cross the freeway when he was struck by several vehicles.  It is unknown which vehicle first struck him.

The investigation is continuing.
