Fatal Traffic Accident at 14200 Katy Freeway

January 07, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 14200 Katy Freeway (Interstate Highway 10 West) about 3 a.m. today (Jan. 7).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:

According to witnesses, the driver of a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck crossed several lanes of traffic before striking the rear of one of two tractor-trailers parked on the right shoulder of the freeway. The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

The investigation is continuing.
