Fatal Traffic Accident at 1100 Eastex Freeway February 8, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1100 bock of the Eastex Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 North) about 2:35 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 6). The female driver, Erica Gaytan, 31, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer L. Hill reported: The female driver of a black Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on the Eastex Freeway when she was struck head-on by a black Ford Escape, driven by Ms. Gaytan and traveling the wrong way on the freeway. The driver of the Ford F-150 was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.
