December 28, 2010 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found in the 4900 block of Telephone Road about 7:20 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 24).

The victim, age unknown, suffered an apparent laceration to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzalez and Officer Klementech reported:

Patrol officers responded to a call of a deceased female on the side of the road at the above location.  A witness told investigators she stopped after seeing what appeared to be a person lying on the side of the road.  After discovering the deceased female, she immediately called police.

There are no known witnesses nor suspects.

This case is being investigated by the HPD Vehicular Crimes and Homicide Divisions.
