Suspect Arrested, Charged in Woman's Death at 1300 Redford
August 23, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a woman at 1300 Redford about 8:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 20).
Dean Jerome Wood (w/m, DOB: 12-23-59) is charged with aggravated sexual assault of an elderly person in the 176th State District Court. He is accused for his role in the killing of Flora Ryan, 92, of the above address.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J.Burton, R. Rohling and Officer M. Brady reported:
Officers were dispatched to assist HFD personnel with an individual (Wood) causing a disturbance on the scene of a sick call at 1300 Redford, #1708A. Officers arrived and were advised that an elderly woman had been found by a relative unresponsive in a bathtub. Ms. Ryan was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Officers detained Wood and he was booked into jail on outstanding warrants. Further investigation revealed he sexually assaulted Ms. Ryan.
