Fatal Traffic Accident at 9700 North Freeway
August 23, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9700 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 11:35 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 21).
The name of the deceased victim, 32,is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Ashford reported:
Witnesses stated a group of motorcycles was traveling south on the North Freeway at a high rate of speed, cutting in and out of traffic. The victim, wearing a helmet and operating a green Kawasaki motorcycle, was trailing the other bikers. The group sped up and passed an unknown vehicle. The victim followed and when he attempted to pass the same vehicle, he lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected from it. The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
