Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2900 Westerland

September 28, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male found at 2900 Westerland about 7:25 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 25).

The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers C.P. Abbondandolo and A.D. Brown reported:

The victim was found lying face down on the lawn of a vacant home. Investigators determined he had been shot multiple times. Neighbors stated several gunshots in the area were heard shortly before midnight the previous night. A large amount of money wrapped in plastic was found in the pocket of the victim’s shorts.
