Investigation into Man's Death at 7553 Bellaire Boulevard

September 11, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man at 7553 Bellaire Boulevard about 12:50 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 10).

The victim, Steven Kirby, 56, of Houston, suffered electrical burns to his right arm and right side and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Senior Police Officer S. Anderson reported:

Mr. Kirby, who is an electrical contractor, attempted to connect a newly installed neon sign while the electrical wiring was live. Kirby’s co-workers found him unconscious and called an ambulance.

An autopsy will be performed by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine his cause of death.
