Fatal Shooting at 10200 West Bellfort

September 8, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10200 West Bellfort about 1:15 a.m. on Monday (Sept. 7).

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Officer K. Lopez reported:

HPD patrol officers responding to a report of gunshots at the above address found blood outside and on the front of an apartment door. Officers then performed a welfare check and found the victim dead inside the apartment.

Homicide investigators subsequently learned that the victim was not a resident at the apartment and that home invasion tools were found next to his body. The apartment’s tenants could not be located and have not contacted police.
