Fatal Traffic Accident At 500 Gulf Freeway

October 16, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 500 Gulf Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 South) about 3 a.m. today.

The female victim, Quineisha Callahan, age unknown, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. R. Sorge and Officer S.M. Johnson reported:

The driver of a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound on the Gulf Freeway when he struck the rear of a black Mercury Cougar that was stalled on the freeway. Ms. Callahan, a rear passenger in the Mercury, was taken to the hospital and the driver and front passenger of the Mercury were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
