Suspect Identified in Shooting at 1304 West 20th October 1 , 2009 - Charges have been filed against one of two suspects wanted in the shooting of two men at 1304 West 20th about 12:20 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 27). The suspect, Alfredo Ernesto Herrera (H/m, DOB: 4-9-88), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 180th State District Court. A photo of Herrera, who remains at large, is attached to this news release. A second unidentified male suspect also remains at large.
One male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. A second male victim also suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in good condition. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R.W. Chappell and D.W. Arnold reported: Herrera and a second male suspect returned to the La Bola Loca Club on Saturday evening after an altercation with bar employees a week earlier. The suspects got into another fight and were forced to leave the bar. Herrera went to his car, retrieved a shotgun and fired two shots into the club, striking both victims. Neither victim was involved in either of the two incidents involving the suspects. The unidentified suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his 20s, and wearing a white shirt.
