Man Fatally Shot at 7703 Irvington November 23, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7703 Irvington about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 21). Alexander Torres Jr., 24, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Parker and Senior Police Officer S.R. Straughter reported: Patrol officers responded to an assault in-progress call at the Oasis Lounge. Before officers arrived, gunfire erupted between the parties involved in the assault. Mr. Torres was struck and transported by private vehicle to the hospital. An unknown number of suspects are involved.
