Fatal Shooting at 13980 Westheimer Road

November 17, 2009 - The fatal shooting of an armed robbery suspect at 13980 Westheimer Road about 12:05 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 16) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The male suspect, 30 to 40 years of age, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

The male shooter, 25, was not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W. Booth, A. Semmelrock and Senior Police Officer C. Abbey reported:

The suspect entered a video game room at 13980 Westheimer, produced a pistol, and escorted an employee (shooter) to a back room and demanded money. When the employee gave the suspect a large amount of cash, the suspect walked from the back room and ran for the exit of the store. The employee then came from the back room armed with a pistol, fired several times and struck the suspect.
