Fatal Traffic Accident at 4100 West Orem

November 16, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4100 West Orem about 5:15 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 15).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J.A. Calley and Officer B. Banks reported:

The male was driving a gold Honda Accord eastbound on West Orem and ran the red light at the intersection of White Heather. The Accord struck a gold Dodge van traveling northbound at the green light on White Heather. The male driver of the Accord was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the van was also transported to Ben Taub for injuries. A third person, a male passenger in the Accord, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital for his injuries.
