Suspect Arrested, Charged in Woman's Death at 16000 Cotillion November 12, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman found at 16000 Cotillion #A-7 about 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 30. The suspect, Edwin Anderson Rivera (H/m, DOB: 1-13-82), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Iveth Leila Muñoz, 28, of the above address. Ms. Muñoz suffered multiple stab wounds to her neck and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Blain and Senior Police Officer E. Schmidt reported: Ms. Muñoz was at her apartment when Rivera knocked on her door. Muñoz opened the door and then immediately tried to close it on Rivera, but he forced his way into the apartment. A few hours later, a neighbor went to check on Muñoz and found her deceased. Rivera was no longer in the apartment at that time. Further investigation identified Rivera as a suspect in this case. He was arrested on Monday (Nov. 9) without incident and admitted to his involvement in Muñoz’s death. Update: VHS/JFC 11-12-09
