Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5959 Pinemont

November 3, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5959 Pinemont about 9 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 2).

The male victim, 19, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.D. Howard and Officer J.R. Johnson reported:

A female tenant of the Pinemont Forest Apartments spotted the male attempting to break into her car in the parking lot. She retrieved a shotgun and fired one time, striking the suspect.

Investigators questioned the female and released her without charges at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
