Fatal Traffic Accident at 3800 Eastex Freeway

March 30, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 3800 block of the Eastex Freeway (U.S. Highway 59) about 12:15 a.m. on Sunday (March 29). 

The male victim, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer I. Jefferson reported: 

The driver and two passengers of a Ford F-150 pickup truck were traveling southbound on the Eastex Freeway at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then struck the wall and killed the driver. Two male passengers were transported to LBJ Hospital in unknown conditions. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. 

The investigation is continuing.
