Update on Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6767 Bennington

March 20, 2009 - Houston police have learned the identity of a man fatally shot at 6767 Bennington about 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday (March 17).

The victim, Reginald Jones, 21, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Parker and Senior Police Officer S. Straughter reported:

Patrol officers responded to a call at the Emerald Bay Apartments at 6767 Bennington and found Mr. Jones deceased.  An investigation will be conducted to determine why Jones was at the location and if other reports of gunshots in the area are related to this incident.

There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
