Composite Sketches Released in Shooting at 3100 Leeland March 19, 2009 - Houston police homicide investigators have released composite sketches of two suspects wanted in the shooting of a man in the 3100 block of Leeland about 4 a.m. on Tuesday (Mar. 17).
The victim, Carl Landry, 25, suffered a gunshot wound to the lower left leg and was transported to Memorial Herman Hospital where he was treated and released. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers D. W. Arnold and R. A. Moreno reported: Mr. Landry was driving his sport utility vehicle with a female passenger southbound in the 2900 block of Leeland when he saw a gray Honda Civic traveling northbound. The Honda swerved into Landry’s lane and sideswiped his vehicle. Landry then made a partial U-turn near Palmer Street. The Honda also turned around and again struck Landry’s vehicle causing him to hit a wooden utility pole and come to a stop. As Landry exited his vehicle two Hispanic males got out of the Honda and one of them pulled a handgun from his back pocket and fired twice. Landry was struck once in the lower left leg and then he ran for help. The two suspects left their car behind and chased Landry for a short distance before fleeing the scene on foot. The female passenger was not injured. Evidence recovered from the suspects’ vehicle indicates they were involved in an earlier robbery of a man, 34, at 4400 Telephone Road about 3:45 a.m. The suspects stole the victim’s wallet at gunpoint, assaulted him and then fled. Both suspects are described only as Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20s, and about 5 feet 7 inches tall with skinny builds. The shooter had spiked hair and was wearing black clothing. The sketches are attached to this news release.
