Fatal Traffic Accident at 800 West Sam Houston Parkway

March 17, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 800 block of West Sam Houston Parkway about 10:45 p.m. on Monday (Mar. 16).

The male victim, 56, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. S. Runyan and Officer A. Alaniz reported:

The victim was riding a red Harley motorcycle in the right lane when he struck a curb, causing him to lose control and strike the pavement.  He was taken by ambulance to Ben Taub General Hospital where he died short time later. 

No other vehicles were involved.  The investigation is continuing.
