Fatal Double Shooting at 6110 Fairdale June 17, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two children and the apparent attempted suicide of a male suspect at 6110 Fairdale about 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday (June 16). The victims, an 8-year old female and a 6-year-old male, both suffered at least one gunshot wound and were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. The suspect, identified as Pedro Enrique-Garcia Rosabal (b/m, DOB: 9-13-75), the children’s father, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rubio and Officer D. Gunter reported: Rosabal picked up his children from summer school at some point during the afternoon and then contacted his wife by phone. He then told her he was going to kill the children because he and his wife couldn’t work out their marital problems. Rosabal then drove his children to an apartment complex parking lot at 6110 Fairdale, shot them, and then turned the gun on himself. Both children were found deceased and Rosabal was taken to the hospital. No charges have been filed at this time.
