Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 2708 North Shepherd June 8, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 2708 North Shepherd about 2:00 a.m. Friday (June 5). The suspect, Jose Castillo (h/m, DOB: 9-22-69), is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. He is accused of killing a man at the above address. The victim, Angel Erevia, Jr., 31, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Northwest Memorial Hermann Hospital. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T.D. Griffin and Officer D.K Gunter reported: Mr. Erevia’s girlfriend and estranged wife got into a fight at a nightclub at the 2708 North Shepherd. After the club closed, the estranged wife and Castillo approached Erevia and his girlfriend outside the club. Castillo displayed a gun and chaos ensued. Castillo then shot Erevia four times, in the back, abdomen and both arms. Erevia was transported to Northwest Memorial Hermann Hospital by a private auto, where he was pronounced dead.
