Investigation Into Shooting at 7035 Bellfort

June 1, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7035 Bellfort about 2:15 a.m. Saturday (May 30).

The victim, a Hispanic male, 47, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Gunter and R. Houghton reported:

The victim was inside his vehicle when he was approached at gun point by several suspects who attempted to rob him. A fight broke out between the victim and the suspects which led to the victim being shot in the chest. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.
