Fatal Traffic Accident at 1600 Holmes July 31, 2009 - Houston Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1600 block of Holmes about 10:35 p.m. on Thursday (July 30). The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to next of kin by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Runyan and Officer T. Turner reported: Witness reported the driver of the gray Dodge Charger was seen traveling westbound on Holmes at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway, rolled, and ejected the driver. The passenger was transported by HFD paramedics to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.
