Charges Filed in Fatal Shooting at 12808 Bellaire

July 24, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 12808 Bellaire about 4:05 a.m. on April 8, 2009. 

The suspect, Khahn Phan (A/m, DOB: 6-15-83) is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Simon Troung, 22, of Houston.  Mr. Troung suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. D. Harris and Senior Police Officer D. R. Shorten reported: 

On April 8, Mr. Troung and a group of friends were at the Roxxy nightclub and then went to a sports bar at 12808 Bellaire for an after-hours birthday party.  Phan then confronted Troung and his friends and had a brief exchange of words.  A few minutes later, Troung went outside to make a phone call and was shot in the parking lot. 

Further investigation developed information that identified Phan as the suspect in this case and on Wednesday (July 22) he was arrested.  Investigators would like to speak to all witnesses who attended the after-hours party on April 8.
