Investigation into Shooting at 14810 Crosswinds #1809 July 7, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male and a female at 14810 Crosswinds #1809 about 11 p.m. on Sunday (July 5). The male victim, Usaf Morris, 26, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. The female victim, Tamisha Freeman, 26, of Louisiana, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper shoulder and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Williams and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported: Mr. Morris and Ms. Freeman were inside their apartment and heard a light tap at the front door. Morris looked through the peep hole, did not see anyone, and opened the door. At that time a whistle and a shot were heard. As she fled the apartment, Freeman saw an unknown male dressed all in black and wearing a black mask. Freeman then jumped to a second floor stairwell landing and then to the ground to escape. She later realized she had been shot. Morris retreated into the apartment where he was followed by the suspect. The suspect then shot Morris and fled the scene.
