Fatal Traffic Accident at Sam Houston Parkway at Gulf Freeway January 29, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident on the connector road from the Gulf Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 South) to the South Sam Houston Parkway about 1:10 a.m. today (Jan. 29). The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer S. Johnson reported: The victim and another male were driving in a red Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on the connector road from the Gulf Freeway to westbound side of the South Sam Houston Parkway when the driver lost control, causing the truck to roll over. One of the males was killed and the other suffered minor injuries. At this time, investigators have not determined who was driving the truck. Investigators will await toxicology tests on the surviving male. The investigation is continuing. JFC/VHS
