Fatal Shooting at 9001 South Braeswood January 16, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1 Goodson about 10:20 p.m. on December 7, 2008. The suspect, Daniel Ramirez (H/m, DOB: 9-28-90), is charged with capital murder in the 179th State District Court. He is charged for his role in the killing of Juan Castillo Rosales, 35. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P.V. Munoz and Officer L.R. Leon reported: Mr. Rosales and his wife returned home and parked their vehicle in the apartment complex parking lot when they were approached by two suspects, one of whom was armed with a shotgun. The suspects demanded money and jewelry from Rosales’ wife and then shot Rosales. The suspects fled. Juan Rosales was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Acting on a Crime Stoppers tip, investigators were led to Ramirez as one of the two suspects. He was arrested at his residence on Thursday evening (Jan. 15) without incident. The other suspect, the shooter, remains unidentified and wanted at this time.
