Investigation into Infant's Death at 923 East 39th Street

January 13, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of an infant at 923 East 39th Street about 8 a.m. today (Jan. 13).

Two-month-old Janiya Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers A. J. Palos and C. T. Hufstedler reported:

Baby Janiya was found deceased in her crib by her mother. An initial investigation determined no visible signs of trauma. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of baby Janiya’s death.

The investigation is continuing.
