Charges Filed in Fatal Traffic Accident at South 79th and Elwood

January 12, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested following a vehicle pursuit with Houston police officers that resulted in a fatal traffic accident at South 79th Street and Elwood about 11:50 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 10).

The suspect, Frank Anthony Marron (H/m, DOB 10-18-91), is charged with felony murder in the 180th State District Court.

The deceased male victim, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Lopez and Officer C. Rooke reported:

Eastside Patrol Division officers attempted to stop a reported stolen black Ford F-350 pickup truck being driven by Marron. Marron refused to stop and fled from the officers. Marron continued through the intersection of 79th Street and Elwood and struck a blue Ford Expedition. The driver of the Expedition was killed and his male passenger was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.

Marron was arrested and taken into custody at the scene without incident.
