Charges Filed in Fatal Stabbing at 8001 Tuffly January 2, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 8001 Tuffly about 5:40 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 1). The suspect, Michael Cisneros (H/m, DOB: 8-30-49), is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Serapio Chavez, 39, of Houston. Mr. Chavez suffered a stab wound to the chest and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. HPD Homicide Division Officers M. A. Khan and C. D. Sturdivant reported: Chavez and two of his friends were at Cisneros’ house drinking beer. Chavez told Cisneros he was leaving and decided to take a six pack of beer Cisneros had purchased. Both men then got into a physical fight inside the residence and, at some point during the fight, Cisneros picked up a knife from the coffee table and stabbed Chavez. Both men continued to fight and Cisneros threw Chavez out of the residence. A neighbor then called HFD emergency personnel when he saw Chavez on the grass. Patrol officers responded to the scene and took Cisneros into custody. He later provided a statement regarding his involvement in the incident. VHS/JFC Inc. #000406009For additional
