Suspects Arrested, Charged in Man's Death at 6060 Gulfton

February 27, 2008 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the death of a man found at 6060 Gulfton about 11 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 25).

The suspects, identified as Manuel Orellano Cortes (H/m, DOB: 6-19-85) and Javier Antonio Garcia (H/m, DOB: 11-20-85), are charged with murder in the 351st State District Court.  The two are accused in the beating death of Mardoqueo Sacah Morales, 37, who suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.   

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Chapell and D. Gunter reported:

Officers responded to a call regarding a person found deceased at 6060 Gulfton.  Investigators determined the victim, Mr. Morales, sustained injuries consistent with blunt force trauma to the head.

Both suspects were taken into custody a few hours after the incident.
