Fatal Traffic Accident at 14700 El Camino Real

February 25, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 14700 El Camino Real about 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 24).

Two deceased elderly victims, Janice H. Berg, 79, and her husband, Kenneth D. Berg, 85, of Houston, were pronounced dead hours later at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R.L. Gaines and Officer J.A. Mushinski reported:

Mrs. Berg was driving a 2009 silver Toyota Camry south on El Camino Real and crossing the intersection of Kingstone when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole.  Both she and Mr. Berg were taken to the hospital in critical condition with severe blunt force trauma.  They were pronounced dead later Tuesday evening.
