Man Found Fatally Shot at 5850 Ranchester

February 23, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 5850 Ranchester about 12:00 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 21).

The victim, Walter Alfredo Ventura, 22, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers C. T. Hufstedler and A. J. Palos reported:

Officers responded to an unknown DOA call at the business strip parking lot at 5850 Ranchester and found a Hispanic male dead in the driver’s seat of a Chevrolet vehicle.  The male had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.

Investigators believe Mr. Ventura had been dead for several hours before being noticed by a citizen passing through the area.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
