Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 7329 Alba

February 10, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7329 Alba about 2:30 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 9). 

The victim, Norris Joseph Jr., 62, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D. A. Ferguson and Senior Police Officer T. S. Tyler reported: 

Mr. Joseph and his wife, Doris, got into an argument that escalated into a physical fight.  As Joseph pushed and shoved his wife, fearing for her safety, she retrieved a pistol.  As the couple struggled over the pistol, it discharged and Joseph was struck. 

Mr. Joseph’s wife was questioned and released pending further investigation. 

No charges have been filed at this time.
