Investigation Into Male’s Death at 800 Franklin

December 28, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found in the 800 block of Franklin about 2:45 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 27).

The victim, Kevin Fowler, 37, of Houston, suffered head trauma and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer J. Castaneda and Officer K. Lopez reported:

Patrol officers responded to a failure-to-stop-and-render-aid traffic accident in the 800 block of Franklin and found the incident to be an assault. Further investigation determined Mr. Fowler had an altercation with five unknown male suspects, who then assaulted him.

The suspects, described only as five black males, were last seen fleeing the location in a silver Dodge Durango with unknown license plates.
