Fatal Traffic Accident at 2900 South Loop East

December 21, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 2900 block of the 610 South Loop East (Interstate Highway 610 South) about 10:45 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 19).

The identity of the male victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer I. Jefferson reported:

A blue Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle and a white Dodge Durango were traveling east on the South Loop when the operator of the Suzuki, traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control and struck the back of the Dodge. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported that two other motorcycles were also accompanying the Suzuki and fled the scene.
